a plenty of这个结构不对，应该是plenty of，后接可数名词或不可数名词，意思是许多的，大量的。而a large number of后面只能接可数名词复数，意思也是许多的，大量的。
例如，There areplenty of books /paper in the room. 房间里有很多书(纸张)。又如，A large number of people are swimming.很多人在游泳。
